Aqualyx Fat Dissolving Injections

Aqualyx Fat Dissolving Injections

NON-INVASIVE BODY-CONTOURING WITH FAT-DISSOLVING INJECTIONS

Aqualyx Fat Dissolving Injections are a specially-formulated compound solution which is injected by a specially trained practicioner into the problem area. It works by attaching to fatty deposits, breaking them down over time. The fat is then naturally dissolved and flushed out by the body. It produces long lasting results, which means you can banish those annoyingly wobbly bits.

Aqualyx can be used to treat small, exercise resistant, pockets of fat around the chin, chest, abdomen, thighs, knees and ankles. It is very effective for body contouring, but is not a treatment for weight loss.

  • Targets stubborn fat
  • Treats many areas of the body
  • No scarring, minimal downtime
  • Excellent results

Aqualyx is made up from a number of different plant based compounds that have been refined in a lab environment. Aqualyx dissolves the membranes of fat cells in the treated area. The fat cells become unstable and break open. The fatty acids contained within the cell are then eliminated by macrophages (part of the body’s immune system) and the liver.

Whilst the body can regenerate fat cells - the process is very slow. So once fat cells are removed from a localised area your results are as good as permanent. However, if you do not continue to maintain a healthy lifestyle then your body will put on weight in other areas of your body where fat cells remain.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

How does Aqualyx Lipotherapy work?

Aqualyx uses an ingredient called desoxycholan-acid, a secondary bile acid. This acid destroys fat cells and the fat cell residue is then removed from the body by metabolism, converting the fatty acids to energy to reduce the targeted excess fat. A treatment with Aqualyx does not result in weight loss, it minimises localised areas of stubborn fat.

How may sessions do I need?

The number of Aqualyx treatments required varies depending on the size of the fatty deposit. Typically 1-3 treatments for small areas, such as the jowls and under the chin, and 2-8 treatments for larger areas such as the thighs. Treatments are spaced at 6 weekly intervals. Your result will show 6 weeks after your final treatment which is when you will have a complimentary review with your practitioner.

What does the treatment involve?

The treatment begins with a consultation with our experienced practicioner to assess the treatment area to devise the best plan of action including pre and post care for optimal results. Using a long, fine needle Aqualyx is injected directly into the subcutaneous fat tissue, which has no pain receptors facilitating comfortable treatment. The amount of treatments varies according to the dimensions of the fat deposit and the individual reactions of the fat tissue. On average you will expect to have around 2-4 appointments, with 4-week intervals.

Although treatment itself is minimally uncomfortable the treatment site will feel tender, swollen, itchy and maybe red/bruising post treatment. This is normal and expected. clients can take pain killers to assist with downtime.

How quickly will I see results?

Results are gradual and cumulative. You will notice improvement over a number of months and from the moment swelling had subsided. Exercise and lymphatic massage will aid results, as will good hydration.

Will I look natural?

Absolutely, yes. The result of these injections are extremely natural looking, and there are no scars or puncture marks left on the skin, apart from small ones where the treatment has been applied. However, these heal quickly.

What happens when it wears off?

Fat reduction is permanent, for the fat cells are destroyed; they don’t come back. Of course, if more weight is gained, then the fatty appearance will return, but in proportion with the new shape gained.

Does it hurt?

Not especially, because the fluid is mixed with local anaesthesia, so the area is numbed. Most people report afterwards that the area looks sore; however, the vast majority of people do not report any pain.
